Tim
Bottorff has been the faculty Reference Librarian at the
Universal Orlando Foundation Library at Rosen College since
its inception in January of 2004. Among Tim's most important
duties are providing research assistance, teaching library
instruction classes, developing the collection, maintaining
and building the library's website, and participating in
a variety of service, research, and professional development
activities. Tim is also the founder and manager of HOSPITALITY-LIB,
an email list devoted to the field of hospitality librarianship.
Tim holds
a B.A. in American Studies from Wartburg College and a
Master's
of Library and Information Science (MLIS)
from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to coming to UCF,
Tim had worked as the Public Services Librarian at Carlow
College (now University) in Pittsburgh and had served two
summer internships at the National Baseball Library & Archive
in Cooperstown, New York. Prior to entering the field of
librarianship, Tim had worked in the hospitality industry
for companies such as Applebee's and Holiday Inn.
Tim's outside interests include baseball, chess, reading,
Scrabble, and word knowledge. Tim lives with his wife, Kerri
(also a librarian), and two cats, Cosette and Lewis.
