Tom
Barr graduated from UCF (FTU) in 1971 with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Psychology. With the Viet Nam draft lottery in
full force, he entered the Air Force immediately after
graduation. During his 27 year Career he had the opportunity
to assume leadership roles in Air Force Morale, Welfare
and Recreation. At the completion of his military career
he was Director of Hospitality Programs for food service,
lodging and associated MWR programs for 18 stateside and
overseas bases. During his time in the military he completed
a Masters in Guidance and Counseling degree from Louisiana
Tech University.
Upon return to Central Florida, Tom served as a private
counselor providing corporate and individual outplacement
support, later joining the UCF Staff at the Career Resource
Center. Currently, he serves as a Faculty Member with Cooperative
Education guiding Rosen Hospitality Majors in career development.
