Napoleon
Garcia is the Technology Manager for the Rosen College of
Hospitality Management, presently heading the Technical Resource
Staff. Napoleon was born in Manila, Philippines and grew up
in Illinois, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree
in Electrical Engineering in 1988 at Illinois Institute of
Technology in Chicago. An Air Force Reserve Officers Training
Corps (ROTC) Four-Year Scholarship graduate, Napoleon served
nearly four years active-duty as a U.S. Air Force officer,
up to the rank of Captain, managing multi-million dollar defense
projects for nuclear missile guidance systems. He was awarded
the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service upon leaving
the military. Napoleon recently earned his Master of Arts
degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois
through an online course delivery program.
Napoleon has worked for various Fortune 500 companies, holding
positions as a project engineer, systems engineer, information
technology support specialist, network administrator, and
test engineer. In addition to his engineering background,
Napoleon's breadth of industry experience ranges from the
support of personal computers, peripherals and related desktop
applications, to the test, installation and maintenance of
network infrastructure and telecommunications systems. Prior
to joining the Rosen College of Hospitality Management in
October 2002, Napoleon was the Operations Supervisor for
a partner company that provided network and telecommunication
services to several of the convention centers at the Walt
Disney World resorts.
