Pat
J. Engfer and Richard A. Nunis were selected by industry
executives and the faculty and staff of UCF’s Rosen
College of Hospitality Management. They will be inducted
at the 2008 Grande Hospitality Gala on March 29 at Loews
Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. A 30-year Hyatt veteran, Engfer has
been general manager in Orlando since the hotel opened
in 1992. She has led the
Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Metro
Orlando Economic Development Commission and the Central Florida
Hotel & Lodging Association. Engfer also will serve as
chair of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
Engfer has been honored as general manager of the year by
the Hyatt Hotels and Central Florida Hotel & Lodging
Association, and she also has been named best hotel general
manager by Orlando Magazine.
Nunis retired as chairman of The Walt
Disney Co. in 1999 after a 44-year career with the company.
He then opened a
consulting company, New Business Solutions Inc. Nunis also
was a charter member of the UCF Board of Trustees and served
as chairman from 2003 to 2006. He remains a university trustee.
Nunis has served on the board of the Travel & Tourism
Advisory Council for the United States Department of Commerce,
and he is chairman emeritus of The Recreation Roundtable,
an advisory committee of recreation industry leaders. He
also was involved in the establishment of Enterprise Florida
and is a past chair of the Florida Council of 100.
