ROSEN COLLEGE OF HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT The Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida invites applications and nominations for Chairperson, Hospitality Services Department. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: (1) an earned doctoral degree with at least one degree in Hospitality Management or a related field; (2) a demonstrated record in research, teaching and service at the university level; (3) successful educational leadership experience; (4) significant hospitality industry experience; and (5) ability to communicate and interact effectively with all constituencies. Preferred Qualifications: academic and practical experience in accounting, finance, information technology, marketing, human resources, law, guest services management, or strategic management. Department Chairperson Responsibilities: The Chairperson reports to the Dean of the Rosen College and is responsible for the Department's academic programs (including curriculum), governance, faculty recruitment, planning, and financial affairs. The Chairperson acts as the Department's advocate to fulfill the missions of the Department, College, and University and participates on the College Executive Committee. She/he represents the Department to students, faculty, administration, and the industry. The Chairperson also facilitates faculty participation in interdisciplinary studies programs at the graduate and undergraduate level and leads the faculty in pursuit of grants and contracts as well as developing a flow of research from the Department. The position is a 12 month appointment. The University: The University of Central Florida is a comprehensive metropolitan university with its main campus located in Orlando, Florida. The Rosen College of Hospitality Management: The College is located in a new self contained state of the art building on a satellite campus in the heart of Orlando’s tourism area. The Rosen College houses the Dick Pope Sr. Institute for Tourism Studies, which is a major research center for the hospitality industry and the Center for Multi-Unit Restaurant Management. The College presently has 40 full time faculty members in three departments, three endowed professorships and six endowed eminent scholar chairs. The curriculum is uniquely focused on preparing students with the leadership skills required for the hospitality industry to meet the challenges of the future. The 2,000 undergraduate students may choose a specialization or track in one of six areas or from three undergraduate degrees.
