Youcheng “Raymond” Wang
is an Associate Professor of hospitality and tourism marketing at the
Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida.
His teaching area includes information system management, technology
strategy, destination marketing and management, and research methods
in hospitality and tourism.
Dr. Wang’s research interest focuses on hospitality marketing,
destination marketing, customer relationship management, destination
image and branding, information search behavior, collaborative strategies,
and technology management. He is the author of 2 books and more than
60 refereed papers in leading academic journals and proceedings of
international conferences. He is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Travel
Research,
International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, International
Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Administration, and Journal of Hospitality
Marketing and Management. He also serves as paper reviewer for several
other journals including Tourism Management, International Journal
of Hospitality Management, Journal of Vacation Marketing, and China Tourism
Research, etc. Dr. Wang has consulting experience in the areas of destination
marketing, technology and e-commerce strategies for hospitality and
tourism
organizations, collaborative strategies for regional destination marketing.
Dr. Wang has received several awards for his contribution and productivity
in his research. For example, he was the winner of the Haworth Press
Best Paper Award at the Eighth Graduate Education and Graduate Students
Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism in 2003. In 2005, Dr.
Wang was granted the Researcher of the Year Award by Rosen College
of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida. In 2005,
he was
the winner of the Keeling Dissertation Award at the Travel and Tourism
Research Association’s (TTRA) Annual Conference for his theoretical
contribution in the area of collaborative destination marketing. In 2006,
he was the winner of the Best Paper Award at the International Society
of Travel and Tourism Educators (ISTTE) Research Conference. Also in
2006, he was granted the Distinguished Researcher Award by the University
of Central Florida for his high quality research productivity. He has
also been selected for Who’s Who in America inclusion for his
notable achievement in his field.
Dr. Wang earned his Master’s from Purdue University and his Ph.D.
from the University of Illinois. He is a member of several professional
associations including Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA),
International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education
(I-CHRIE), and Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP).
