He recently published a book on the application of demand models to a small economy and the related policy issues involved for public and private stakeholders in the context of a small economy, Anatomy of Demand in International Tourism. He is a contributor to several books. Dr. Croes has lectured and made presentations on these topics throughout the world, including the Netherlands, Spain, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Curacao, the Bahamas, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the United States. He currently is an Associate Professor in the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida. He has had extensive experience in destination tourism management, marketing and investment in tourism related infrastructure. He also has significant expertise in operational management, assessment of vulnerabilities and risks at the national and international level, economic incentives for the tourism industry and policy design and implementation mechanisms. Professor Croes received his doctorate from the University of Twente, the Netherlands. His dissertation focused on quantitative modeling of tourism demand, tourism development and government intervention. He has written extensively on these topics and has published various articles in such journals as the Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Tourism Research, Tourism Management and International Journal of Hospitality Management.
