He had worked at senior managerial positions in the industry both in China and United States since 1999 before his pursuit of academic advancement. His current holdings of real estate in China provide him fresh insights of the Chinese economy as well as first-hand information on possibilities to explore the Chinese hospitality market. In addition, he served as a columnist for Travel Times, a leading international Chinese newspaper by Shanghai Tourism Administration Committee and Shanghai Travel Association, introducing U.S. hospitality education systems to the Chinese public. This experience helps him contribute to bridging academic gaps between China and United States.
