Dr. Jill Fjelstul joined the Rosen College of Hospitality Management faculty in August, 2005 as an Assistant Professor. Her teaching expertise includes golf and club management and her research interests are in golf management, club management, and online education. She is presently writing a new degree proposal with a golf and club management focus for Rosen College.

Dr. Fjelstul completed her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the UCF College of Education in January, 2006. She designed and implemented the first online education course for LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Membership. She also designed and conducted two unique golf academies for the exceptional population with grant monies received from her UCF Toni Jennings special initiative award.

Dr. Fjelstul has extensive background in golf and teaching. Her golf accomplishments include two high school state team championships, numerous individual championships, and one collegiate individual title. She was inducted into the University of Northern Iowa’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, has a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, is a Class A LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Member, and is a member of the Club Managers Association of America.

Dr. Fjelstul spent nine years as the UCF Head Women’s Golf Coach. She was twice named Conference Coach of the Year, led two teams and one individual to three NCAA Regional appearances, and has coached two teams to conference titles. She began her coaching and teaching career at her alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa.
