Duncan has a long history of expertise in the training and development arena. He holds his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, and his Master’s from Cornell University, a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCF. He was an instructor then Chairman of the Hotel & Restaurant Department for Central Texas College Europe for two years (’73-’75) and since 1997 has been an adjunct Instructor (now Visiting Instructor Assistant Professor since 2001) for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida teaching Human Resource Management, Hospitality Communications, Theme Park Track electives, Tourism Geography, Training & Development, Guest Services Management and Introduction to the Hospitality Industry Leadership and Strategy.

Through his career Duncan has served on numerous university advisory boards including Virginia Tech, Mercyhurst College, Norfolk State University, Morris Brown College, and Florida State University. He is currently active on the boards of the University of Delaware and Coastal Carolina University. He is also a Director of the international organization the New World Association for Hotel and Tourism Training. Duncan also has served on the Commission Scholaire for the Centre International de Glion (Switzerland) and spent 14 years on the board of directors of the Association for International Practical Training (ten as a member of the executive committee).

Prior to joining UCF, Dickson served almost twenty years with Walt Disney World, Co. were as Director of Casting he was very active in the creation, development, and teaching of numerous training programs. Among these programs where “Casting for a Role in the Show”, “View from a Disney Leader”, “Management Disney Style”, “The Disney Approach to People Management”, and “The Disney Keys to Quality Service”. The later he created as a program to take the Disney quality message to individuals unable to come to Central Florida.

He also has held the following executive positions Director of Staffing/International – Vistana, and Vice President of Human Resources for Kelly Services.
