Services at The Rosen College of Hospitality Management |
| The counseling office offers confidential professional services to UCF students who seek assistance with developmental and mental health-related concerns. We provide short-term culturally-sensitive counseling, consultation, and other collaborative and programmatic services. The Counseling Service office is housed at the RCHM’s Office of Student Services, Suite 201G. Services are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. For more information, or to schedule a consultation, call 407-903-8054. Individual Counseling In a one-on-one interaction with a counselor, students are able to explore and resolve personal concerns. These may include personal growth & development, relationships, life transitions, existential questions, acculturation and multicultural issues, career and life planning, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, trauma, sexual values, or eating problems, among other issues. Group Counseling The Counseling Service office is able to create group counseling, support groups, and/or workshop series to address the student community’s developmental needs. These are some examples of groups and workshops that can be organized upon request: assertiveness, self-esteem, stress management, eating disorders, abuse recovery, women’s issues, GLBT support and returning adult students. In addition, the Counseling Center at the UCF Main Campus offers various group counseling and workshop opportunities that are available to UCF-Rosen students. Crisis Intervention The Counseling Service office is able to respond to students requiring crisis intervention services during normal operation hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). To access this service, please call the Rosen College of Hospitality Management Counseling Services office at (407) 903-8054. UCF-Rosen students can also access health services at the Rosen Medical Center by calling 407-996-4554 during normal operation hours (Mondays-Thursdays 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Fridays 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.). In addition, The Counseling Center at the UCF Main Campus (407-823-2811) is able to provide crisis intervention services to UCF-Rosen College students during operation hours (Mondays-Fridays, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). When the RCHM office and the UCF Counseling Center (Main Campus) are closed, students can access crisis intervention services by calling LifeLine of Central Florida’s Community Crisis Line at 407-425-2624, dialing 911, or visiting the nearest emergency room. Consultation The Center provides professional consultation for students, faculty, staff and parents who are concerned about a student in distress. Our staff will explore your concerns, identify options, and provide referral information or recommendations. Outreach / Presentation Services The Counseling Services office is available to plan and deliver outreach
presentations and training on a number of student developmental issues.
Some of these issues include relationship enhancement, How to Access Services UCF/Rosen College Students: Faculty/Staff: Additional Resources: The Rosen Counseling Service Office The Rosen Counseling Services office at the UCF – RCHM is a satellite unit of the UCF Counseling Center, which is part of the Academic Development and Retention, a unit within the Division of Student Development and Enrollment Services. Professional Staff LeAnne Wawrzaszek, LMHC, MA, NCC - Specialist, Student Counseling LeAnne is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and is Board Certified (NCC) with a Master of Arts in counseling from Rollins College. As part of her training and experience, she has worked with diverse racial/ethnic populations presenting a wide range of developmental and clinical concerns. LeAnne’s professional experience includes hospice, substance abuse, and mental health counseling. She is a professional member of the American Counseling Association and the American College Counseling Association. LeAnne’s approach to counseling is an integration of interpersonal, psychodynamic, and Adlerian models. Prior to her counseling career, LeAnne worked in hospitality, healthcare, and public relations fields. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and enjoys the fine arts. |
