Scott
Smith, CMP, instructor, was born and raised in Orlando,
Florida. As a result of growing up here, he witnessed how
tourism changed the Central Florida area. Scott began his
hospitality career at 16, working in the Haunted Mansion
at Walt Disney World. Scott was one of the first students
to enroll in the newly created Hospitality Management program
at UCF. Upon graduation, he began his career with Marriott
Hotels. In addition, he has worked for Sheraton Hotels,
Doubletree and Rosen Hotels. Scott is currently finishing
his Ph.D. in Hospitality Education. His specific areas
of interest include pricing, revenue management and utilizing
technology to improve guest services in hospitality operations.
