Robert
Ashley is a Program Director & Instructor of Food Service
Education in the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at
the University of Central Florida. He has thirty plus years
experience in the business world and academics. His areas
of expertise are food service management and culinary arts.
Mr. Ashley has consulted extensively and has been an expert
witness in many legal cases.
Mr.
Ashley grew up in the Northeast United States and graduated
from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America and Florida
International University where he received his Bachelor and
Graduate Degrees. He is a Certified Executive Chef, Certified
Culinary Educator and Food Management Professional.
Mr.
Ashleys business and management experience has been
with the Marriott Corporation, United Airlines, Meals on Wheels
Program in South Florida, and he has owned and operated two
successful independent full service restaurants in Massachusetts
and Florida.
Mr.
Ashley has published many articles in academic journals and
was chosen Teacher of the Year in the College
of Business in 1995-1996 and Teacher of the Year in 1999 by
the student chapter of the American Marketing Association
at UCF.
Mr.
Ashley does extensive volunteer work with the Florida Restaurant
Association, which raises funds for student scholarships for
hospitality management and culinary Arts programs in the Central
Florida area. He co-wrote the "Understanding Prepared
Foods" video for the American Culinary Federation.
