Michael “Doc” Terry spent 30 years as Hotel Food and Beverage Director, General Manager and Area Hotel Director for four companies (Hilton Corporation, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Helmsley Hotels and InterContinental Hotels). During the past seven years, he owned his own fast-casual restaurant chain and consulted worldwide for more than 80 hospitality industry businesses on four continents (hotels, timeshares, condo-hotels, ski resorts, military and country clubs, theme parks, bowling centers, fast-casual – upscale restaurants, etc.). Dr. Terry is a training advisor and member of the Board of Directors for several hospitality corporations.

Michael Terry grew up in Ohio, where he earned his Business Finance Degree (The Ohio State University), M.B.A. (Southern Illinois University), and Ph. D. (thesis – Futuristic Trends in Hospitality). He is an author of several industry trade articles, two books, and numerous hospitality training manuals. Dr. Terry has earned the following designations from the American Hotel and Lodging Association: CHA - Certified Hotel Administrator; CFBE - Certified Food and Beverage Executive; CHT - Certified Hospitality Trainer and CHE - Certified Hospitality Educator. Classes include Introduction to Hospitality, Marketing, Lodging, Guest Services, Human Resources, Hospitality Consulting, Hotel Development, Hospitality Law, and Tourism.
