DESCRIPTION
The University of Central Florida is a metropolitan research university with an enrollment of 48,000. Established in 1963, undergraduate and graduate academic programs are delivered through 12 colleges. Located in Orlando, Florida, the University enjoys a rich heritage of cultural, educational. industrial, and recreational activities.
The university is currently seeking a Associate Director of Public Relations for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. This is a temporary hourly position that will pay $19 per hour. However there is a posibilty that this position will become a full time salaried position with benefits in time. The selected candidate will be eligible to apply for that position should it become available.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.
Preferences: Selected candidate will be responsible for planning, administration and coordination of all Rosen College publicity and public relations activities and events aimed at promoting and enhancing the academic and professional reputation of the college among all its constituents. More specifically it is expected that the position holder will develop and market news and feature material to ensure full media potential, reaching constituencies throughout the local, regional, state and national levels. Additional responsibilities will include the development and directing of alumni activities associated with the maintenance of positive relations with alumni and friends of the college.
